Job Purpose
The IT Officer delivers advanced troubleshooting and ensures proper maintenance, organization, and lifecycle management of all school IT assets and end‑user technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with end‑user device security standards and operational IT policies as defined by SABIS®, and coordinate with the School IT Administrator / Head of IT for any infrastructure‑related requirements or escalations
- Install, configure, and deploy approved applications, updates, and patches on end‑user devices, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and administrative operations
- Identify, troubleshoot, and document application‑level issues affecting end users, and log, follow up, and coordinate resolution through SABIS® Service Management and relevant support channels
- Provide advanced support and guidance to students and staff in the effective use of SABIS® solutions, including (but not limited to) SABIS® E‑Books, SABIS® Digital Platform, SIS, and related systems
- Operate, support, and maintain end‑user and school‑level IT technologies (Infrastructure platforms and core network services are escalated to the IT Administrator role)
- Maintain an accurate and up‑to‑date inventory database of all school‑owned end‑user devices and associated accessories
- Administer and maintain Office 365 user accounts for school staff and students, including account setup, modification, and first‑level access support, in accordance with established policies
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical support issues, providing advanced troubleshooting, mentoring Junior IT Officers, and ensuring timely resolution of high‑impact incidents
- Document recurring issues, resolutions, and best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of IT support procedures and user experience
- Perform other related duties as assigned by school management, within the defined scope of the IT Officer role
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Computing, Computer Engineering, or their equivalent
- English Proficient
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS‑900) or equivalent
- Advanced Endpoint / Desktop Support training
- Advanced desk‑side troubleshooting & Asset lifecycle management
- Basic Active Directory user management (reset passwords, unlock accounts)
- Basic networking concepts (IP, LAN, Wi‑Fi troubleshooting)
- Strong problem‑solving
- Ownership of assigned issues
- Ability to prioritize tickets
- Calm handling of urgent classroom incidents
- Documentation discipline
- Collaboration with IT Administrators
