Job Purpose
Responsible for identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Importing, cleaning, transforming, validating, or modeling data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision-making purposes and revealing ways to improve a business, organization, or databases and the data entered into those databases
- Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, and providing ongoing reports to continuously monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements
- Presenting data in charts, graphs, tables, designing, and developing relational databases for collecting data
- Working directly with internal business customers, project managers, and IT to understand reporting requirements and execute a solution meeting the required outcome
- Focusing on solutions, diving into projects, and quickly identifying drivers in the data
- Identifying relevant trends, conducting follow-up analysis, and preparing visualizations
- Selecting features, building, and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
- Conducting data mining using state-of-the-art methods
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, technical, cross-functional environment
- Excellent visual design sense regarding clear and accurate presentation of data
- Some knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, Tableau, etc.) is an advantage
