Job Purpose
Ensuring students’ success and helping them reach their full potential through the delivery of content related to IT, robotics, and coding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching introductory courses in Robotics
- Establishing a competitive, extra-curricular robotics team
- Teaching additional courses in the STEM disciplines according to applicant's expertise and school needs
- Guiding students through the process of designing, building, and programming robots
- Teaching students using the provided lesson plans (may also be asked to develop such plans based on the provided pacing charts as relevant and needed) for robotics/coding
- Providing technical support for robotics and coding equipment
- Ensuring all tools and software related to robotics and coding are functioning properly
- Ensuring all safety protocols are followed during hands-on activities and when using technical equipment
- Maintaining classroom resources, including robotics kits and software
- Creating and administering assessments to evaluate student understanding and proficiency in robotics and coding
- Staying updated on the latest trends and developments in the fields of robotics and coding
- Providing additional support for students who need extra help or are particularly advanced
- Mentoring students in robotics clubs or teams, providing guidance on projects and competitions
- Marking exams/assignments related to the subject taught in accordance with the schedule and material provided by the department
- Implementing the SABIS® Point System to ensure an environment conducive to learning in the classroom
- Proctoring exams as needed
- Providing support for the academically low-performing students through guidance and motivation to help them improve and reach their full potential
- Aiding in duties that may include testing students, substituting for absent teachers, and other administrative duties as assigned by the school management
- Preparing and participating in activity plans related to robotics, coding, IT, etc
- Attending training sessions when needed and as requested by the school management in order to understand the SABIS® system and improve overall student performance
- Performing other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the school management
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field
- English Proficient; knowledge of German is a plus
- Teaching certificate preferred, but not required
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in robotics or related subject or experience coaching in a robotics team environment
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in robotics, such as Python, Java, C++, or block-based coding platforms like Scratch.
- Experience with robotics kits and platforms like LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of robotics systems and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scratch, Arduino)
- Experience with educational robotics platforms (e.g., LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics)
