Job Purpose
Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and monitoring a disciplined environment conducive to learning. Acts as an advisor for students, parents, and teachers on all student management-related issues and behavioral matters, aiming to create a safe learning atmosphere to help students become responsible, self-disciplined individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Student Supervisors to ensure effective performance and proper execution of all tasks in a timely manner
- Mentor and advise students with behavioral issues
- Investigate reasons for students’ recurring behavioral issues directly and through the student supervisors. Confer with the SMC or any other staff member to find long-lasting solutions
- Recommend consequences for students’ behavioral infractions to the SMC, focused on helping students learn the proper behavior instead of purely for punishment reasons only
- Take preventative measures to prevent and deter inappropriate behavior
- Recognize the need to counsel students regularly. Schedule regular meetings with them and escalate any issues, including mental health ones, to the SMC to find long-lasting solutions and involve their parents
- Track lateness, absences, and skipping, and along with the Student Supervisors, find solutions to ensure students are at school and in class, maximizing their learning
- Ensure Student Supervisors accurately enter data into the SABIS® School Management System/ SABIS® Information System (SSMS/SIS), including student attendance data, infractions, and discipline remarks. Document all meetings and any relevant documentation in the Y-Book
- Maintain a safe and secure environment at all times
- Call parents whose children experience behavioral challenges to discuss the situation and the course of action to help their child
- Discuss with the SMC the need to meet parents at the school and who should be present during the meeting
- Review weekly discipline reports (SSMS/SIS), extrapolating the needed information and statistics to prevent reoccurring situations and proactively support students requiring behavioral guidance. Discuss these reports with the SMC
- Support teachers and staff on Student Management procedures, including all related forms and proper tablet usage
- Partner with the Student Life Organization (SLO) Discipline prefects to fully monitor the school and brainstorm solutions to behavioral challenges
- Hold weekly meetings with Student Supervisors to discuss discipline issues, teacher support, and potential solutions
- Hold regular meetings with the SMC to review reports, statistics, and proactive solutions to major discipline issues
- Escalate problematic behavioral issues to the SMC promptly and update them on their status
- Stay well-informed about current events and activities at the school
- Ensure the proper implementation of the SABIS® student management systems and policies
- Assist the SMC in carrying out performance evaluations for the Student Supervisors, if and when needed
- Perform other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the school management
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience in a related field, with preference for expertise in behavior and discipline
- English Proficient; local language is a must
