Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring the strict implementation of first aid and emergency medical procedures in all incidents involving students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishing, implementing, and documenting a comprehensive school health and hygiene program.
- Designing and delivering a personal hygiene program to raise awareness among students on the importance of healthy hygiene practices.
- Developing a systematic, periodic, well-documented, and proactive health inspection program aimed at reducing the risk of illness or the spread of epidemics among students and staff.
- Maintaining up-to-date health records for all students.
- Monitoring and following up on student absences related to health conditions or injuries.
- Informing parents/guardians about any potential health or injury-related incidents involving their children.
- Ensuring the school clinic is fully equipped and prepared to manage minor injuries and moderate illness cases for students and staff.
- Standardizing current work processes and procedures in the schools’ clinics to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
- Encouraging and developing a caring environment that allows young students to feel safe and well taken care of.
- Delivering accurate, reliable, and timely health related reports to management as, and when, requested.
- Advising management on preventive health and safety measures aimed at reducing the risk of injury or incidental harm to students and staff.
- Ensuring the cafeteria staff maintain valid health clearances and hygiene standards in accordance with Ministry of Health regulations.
- Developing and displaying health and safety tips as well as articles to raise awareness among students and staff.
- Facilitating clear communication between parents and the school regarding students’ special medical needs during school hours.
- Attending and participating in school meetings as required.
- Performing other related tasks as they arise and as delegated by the School Management.
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or a related field
- Eligibility to obtain school nurse license from the local government authorities
